In 2020, I published 6 fics (5 exchange assignments + 1 mini bang). Although I liked most of what I wrote, I was disappointed that I didn't write any of the ships or kinks I'd been most excited about that year, and that aside from the bang, all I'd written was exchange assignments.

In 2021, I published 18 fics (plus 2 cracky fandom spreadsheets) across 9 exchanges. For me personally, 2021 was even more bonkers and unsettling than 2020, which resulted in ten rabid obsessive fandom hyperfixations in 2021 (I usually average 1-3 a year at most).

My 2021 fandom goals were more complex than I feel like going through, but my overall goal was to write more things purely for the joy of writing, which I definitely accomplished. I wrote an average of over 2 fics per exchange, I wrote at least six of my weirdest niche kinks, and I wrote some ultraviolent Reylo femdom. I'm pretty satisfied.

Some 2022 fandom goals:

-Don't sign up for any traditional exchanges, especially full-length freeform exchanges

-Write and post two fics outside of an exchange

-Complete some of the media I'm halfway through so I can fandom without fear of spoilers

-Write some of the ships/characters I'm most inspired by while the inspiration is still fresh

Little Black Dress Exchange just had reveals, and I made out well! I received two nice little fics, one for my favorite pairing in the fandom and one for a surprise rarepair (which is the ideal spread for this particular exchange, IMO).

I only wrote one fic for this exchange, for a character I added to my offers last minute. I multiship most of my favorite characters, but I have a few classic bicycles I want to shamelessly whore out to everybody, and Peter Quill is one of them.

Little Black Dress is the last exchange I'm doing for a while (I signed up for Iddy Iddy Bang Bang, but that's a low-pressure commitment and I was planning to write that fic anyway). I've been in an exchange rut since last year, trying a bunch of new shiny exchanges and then stressing out and finishing my assignment at the last possible second with no time or energy for treats. I ended up happy with most of them, but that's due to much more post-bus-pass editing than I usually do. My quarantine personality is "start ten million incredibly complex projects so I stay constantly busy but never finish anything," which I'm sure doesn't help.

I am snowed in, so meme! I'm doing 5 lines from 5 fics because I have too many WIPs. I'm probably going to work on one of these while I'm stuck inside, but I'm undecided which one. Most of these are NSFW in case anyone cares, and a couple of them are seriously dark and kinky.

1. Jonathan's under control and breathing deeply when he sits back up. He tugs his Under Armour up carefully, holding it away from the skin. He wants so much to rub his knuckles against the bruise, feel the full depth of the ache. He takes another careful breath and feels it twinge.

Across the room, Brownie gasps, sharp through his teeth like he's the one in pain. "Jesus, Quickie. That looks like it hurts."


2. It was kind of sweet that Dan didn't want to look at her. She thought he had a kid, maybe more than one. But his eyes kept wandering down to the dancer's ass, following the erotic swirl of her hips. He gripped his chair like he was trying not to touch anything.

Lana wondered what would happen if she bought him a lap dance.


3. "So Grey Goose isn't too rough for your faggot throat.” Lynch kept chugging, vodka dribbling down the side of his jaw. Kavinsky's dick pulsed.

"Stop." Lynch stopped swallowing, but it took him a second to lower the bottle, and more vodka poured all over his shirt. His slack jaw and wet lips made Kavinsky feel sick even as he shuddered with desire.


4. The water’s surprisingly clear, and it feels so cool against my skin that I can’t help moaning a little. Beverly’s got just her eyes poking up out of the water like a crocodile, and the look she’s giving me is unmistakably carnivorous. I feel her legs slide up around my thighs as she tilts her hips closer to the surface.

I startle when Oxley grips my arms from behind, holding me still with all the strength of a rock trapping the river’s flow. “Think she wants you to go for a dive, boy. Go on, the water’s lovely.”


5. Michelle loved Jeff before he got hot, loved his smile and his grace and his big heart. She may have a big ass and a bigger mouth, but when Jeff lifts her, Michelle feels like the beautiful ballerinas she loved as a child. If that gives her expertise (what PK calls "the bitchy Richie school of pining outside your sexual orientation"), she has to use her powers for good.

Just for Alexa, though. Jonathan Toews is a lost cause.
